For finished collapsible PP honeycomb pallet sleeve boxes, four key manufacturing processes are required after the raw honeycomb board is produced by the extrusion line: 10 mm edge sealing, hinged open‑window door fabrication, panel bending, and sheet butt fusion welding.
The 10 mm edge‑sealing process is the first essential step. The hot‑melting edge‑sealing machine heats and seals the open honeycomb cross‑section on all cut edges of 10 mm thick PP honeycomb sheets. It permanently closes the hollow honeycomb cell ends, stopping dust and moisture from entering inside the board, preventing delamination and greatly improving the service life of final pallet sleeve boxes.
The second process is open‑window hinged door making. The dedicated window‑opening machine precisely cuts out the door opening on finished sleeve panels and processes hinge notches in one operation. This creates an integrated access door on the side wall of the pallet sleeve box. Factory workers can take out stored goods directly through this side door without unfolding the whole sleeve container, which significantly improves material‑handling efficiency for automotive‑part returnable packaging.
Third comes PP honeycomb board bending. The heating‑type bending machine applies localized controlled heating along a preset crease line on the 10 mm sheet. After thermal softening, the panel can be folded sharply to form the box corner structure. After cooling, the fold retains its angle permanently. This bending procedure allows flat honeycomb boards to be folded into four‑sided sleeve walls for collapsible pallet boxes.
The fourth production step is butt fusion welding. The butt fusion machine heats two separate PP honeycomb board edges until they reach molten status, then presses them firmly together under constant pressure. The two panels fuse into one continuous large‑size honeycomb sheet without additional adhesive. Customers can extend board width freely according to custom sleeve‑box dimension requirements.
